Arriving in Europe in the 16th century, the hyacinth flower symbolizes peace, devotion, and beauty. In the language of flowers, it expresses romantic hope and symbolizes harmony and the joy of life. With an impressive will to live, this oriental flower braves darkness and cold in its garden of light. Like a Buddha, it heralds the renewal of the world. An eternal and new life that shines like the sun between its dark green leaves.
In this painting, I sought to capture the gentle beauty of the everyday and elevate it through a play of texture and depth. This small potted plant, emerging from an ordinary coffee cup, symbolizes resilience and new beginnings. I chose tempera for its earthy, matte texture, which accentuates the quiet strength of growth in confined spaces. The realism inherent in this work aims to inspire reflection on the beauty and overlooked potential of our everyday surroundings.
